Sarina suggested we take our maternity photos at the Lacy Park in San Marino. I asked Susie Chhour to make me over and I looked beautiful, well, face and hair wise, still not used to the double chin and extra flappy arms. Here are some of the pictures:

sometime i just sit and watch what troy does all day. he sleeps, growls, bark, plays with JD, begs for treats, licks his paws, and then sleeps some more. i like when we come home, he’ll run to us with a stuffed toy in his mouth and wags his tail. when he sleeps at night, he has to cuddle next to us and if we leave our pillow for a second, he’ll take over. he’s so darn cute!

wedding business update

Opened a free checking account today for the business. Chase classic checking. No monthly fees, just have to use my debit card 5 times a month. That’s easy enough.

Goal for the year is to hit 10 weddings. So far I’ve got 7 booked:

2010 random rant

ha! last post was april 2009! that’s pretty lame, but i’ve been updating my other blog In the Clouds Events, so *blow raspberry* =P !

My new year resolution is to have fun, do lots of creative projects, travel, blog more, make babies, and most importantly get my wedding business going.

First, for FUN. I’m planning to watch lots of tv, hang out with friends, and just being happy.

Second, I’m planning to pick up tons of Youtube DIY videos and take a stab at sewing, crafting, etc.

Third, Dave and I are going to Taiwan! I’m hoping to squeeze in Japan and Singapore or Malaysia, too; woOoo maybe even Bali! I want to conquer Asia in 2010.

Forth, blog more. What does it look like I’m doing?

Fifth, ah yes… the baby goal, since everyone’s got 2 babies now, I better get going. Clock is ticking like crazy!

Finally, business. I’ve got all of the legal stuff done, DBA, City business license, Federal EID, etc. Signed up for GoogleVoice, so now I have a business # and it’s so cool that if I missed the call, I will get a transcribed voice mail. Next step is to open a bank account so I can deposit shiny bucks from clients.

Crappy lemon lenovo laptop

My husband bought me a brand spanking new laptop from Lenovo. The model similar to my current one from Disney, but better w/ faster processor, web cam, Vista, etc. Everything seemed fine for the first couple of weeks, then the laptop died. It would not boot up and you can’t hear the harddrive spinning. So, I assumed that the harddrive died. We called tech support and they said to send the machine back to them for repair instead of exchanging a new one for us. Mind you, that we’ve only had the laptop for less than 2 weeks. So, it’s definitly factory defective. We had no choice, so we sent it back. They returned it with a new motherboard, but guess what? The window vista kept giving me blue screen of death. Great ey? I was soOoooOoooooo pissed as was my husband. We sent it back again and complained. We ended up buying a new lenovo and requested a refund for the crappy lemon. My new one is fine with Windows XP, still waiting for the refund tho. It’s been more than a month. Crappy!

Doggie Park

took the dogs to the park today. it was just us alone, then more friends came to play. all of the owners were cool with our dogs playing with each other, sniffing, barking, chasing around. that is, until this crazy fat lady showed up with her mini chihuahuas and ruined everyone’s day. troy, of course, is the troublemaker, but dang, that lady was totally overreacting. all of the dogs were interested in her baby chi, and i guess troy took a play bite, the mini-chi yelped a little, but it’s not like troy bit off her head. i laughed and apologized, cuz they’re just being dogs, the psycho bitch went off “it’s not funny, he bit her!” omg! if you dont want your dog to interact with other dogs, dont freaking bring them to a dog park!

Lazy unemployed days

haha… yes, i was laid off from Disney. after 4 years of the same work and same people, it’s finally come to an end. i think it sucks, but probably for the better. this is my chance to start my wedding business and freelance as project manager/web producer on the side. ultimately, become a stay at home mom (not quite there yet though).

so my typical lazy unemployed days starts like this:

1. sleep in

2. walk the dogs

3. watch the dogs get tanned

4. check email

5. open the store

6. try to make more money

6. run store tours for girl scouts

7. wash dirty uniforms

8. Make copies at FedEx

9. grocery shopping

10. dinner with dave

To move or not to move…

So Dave and I are thinking about selling the store and buying a house. He’s supportive of me quitting my job at Disney and be a wedding planner. I think I would be happier if that was the case, too, but how the heck would we pay bills without Uncle Mickey handing me a paycheck every week? Good question.

We’ve been checking out a lot of residential home builders, and found that Olson Homes has the best design in terms of architecture. They seem to get what Californians want, most homes are suitable for bachelors, but they’re also good for small families. “Walk” is the selling point. Olson Homes are built around shops and metro system, convenient and modern. Live and Work style would be my #1 choice if I was to quit my job and start a business. Check out some of these houses though, I SoOooo want them:

Wedding Consultant Certificate

So, I’m taking this Wedding Consultant Certificate class at Cal Poly Pomona. Our very first class is learn how to select vendors, interview them, and remember to always visit them working at a wedding. 9 more classes to go. I can’t really stand the instructor, but she’s got valid points. I hope I can pass the class and get my certificate. Let me know if you need a wedding planner! I’ll hook you up, free service, well, until I can get it right, then I’ll charge. =P

Birthday Vacation

Dave took me on an awesome trip up north for my birthday weekend. We drove by Santa Barbara, Solvang, San Luis Obispo, and stayed two nights in San Francisco. I love vacations!
